Before Infinite Catering, me and my partner Shirrel ran a Caribbean restaurant in Greenwich called Island Flavours. It was a proper, well established spot with a strong following and a lot of love behind it.
At the time, I was still working full-time as a plumber grafting all day, then heading straight to the restaurant after work. I’d change clothes, jump behind the counter, take orders, clean down, serve customers, whatever needed doing. Shirrel was doing the same running front of house, working alongside the chefs, managing day-to-day operations.
And here’s the part most people don’t know: Shirrel gave up her dream of becoming a nurse to run that restaurant full-time. She put her ambition on pause to help build something for both of us and that meant everything.
We had staff, but when the pressure hit it was on us.
And when the chefs walked out unexpectedly, we didn’t crumble. We stepped into the kitchen ourselves. We didn’t even know we could cook like that until we had to. That moment changed everything. That’s when we realised this wasn’t just about running a business. This was about discovering our purpose.
When Island Flavours had to close, it hit hard.
After everything we’d built, watching those doors shut felt like we were losing a part of ourselves. Shirrel was ready to walk away. And honestly, she had every right to. But I told her.
“We’ve come too far. We’ve got too much experience, too much knowledge from running that restaurant we can’t let this go to waste. Let’s start a catering business.”
And that’s how Infinite Catering was born.
We started from scratch, doing home deliveries, local events, market stalls. No ego, just work. Day by day, we built a name from the ground up.
Today, we’re proud to cater weddings, festivals, corporate events and film sets. We’ve worked with productions like Tina Turner the Musical, and venues like Addington Palace. Everything we’ve achieved came from consistency, resilience, and never forgetting where we came from.
And now? We’re proud to create opportunities for others, to lead by example, and to show what’s possible when you keep going even when it feels like it’s over.
Infinite Catering isn’t just a business it’s our comeback story.
It’s about sacrifice, belief, and never giving up on your dream.
And we’re only just getting started.
You don’t have to be a chef to cook for the world, just use your mind, body, and soul… and the rest is infinite.
